Cyclone Sidr- help to rebuild house-Help for humanity

Cyclone Sidr powered through Bangladesh last 15th November 2007, devastating the southern coast and directly affecting around 3.1 million people.
More than 3,000 people have been reported dead and over 1,000 are missing, but numbers are rising fast as the full effects of the cyclone become clear.
Most deaths were caused by the 15ft tidal surge that plunged into coastal villages and towns, filling the air with debris and flattening bamboo and tin houses.
Vicious 250kph winds tore down homes, schools and power lines. Roads and bridges were also seriously damaged by the cyclone.

Crops-poultry wiped out
The massive tidal surge also contaminated water sources with saltwater and swept away entire harvests of crops.
More than 700,000 acres of crops have been totally wrecked and a further 23,000 have been partially destroyed. This has left hundreds of people with little to eat and no means to earn a living. In some areas, whole paddy fields have been destroyed, wiping out four months of food.
Some people lost everything they owned in an instant and it will take months, or even years, to rebuild their lives.

Homeless people,
Almost 100000 families lost their houses

Careless Caring (CCms) Response
CCms has launched an urgent appeal for $.5 million to help people affected by the cyclone. To rebuild the houses of effeted people.
